How to Control Our Thinking to Become Healthier & Stronger

I love learning how the brain influences our ability to overcome extreme situations and effectively heal most chronic illnesses. I watched The goop Lab on Netflix and came across Wim Hof or the “Iceman” and was blown away by what he stands for and has proven time and time again: if trained properly, our bodies can do super-human like things. What’s his philosophy? Pretty simple actually; it requires intentional practice that most of us are admittedly too lazy to implement. We, as a society, want ONE answer to every problem. An easy fix.  Truth is, we’re crazy for thinking resolutions come that simple.  Nevertheless, everything we deal with begins with US and how we perceive things; our unconscious thoughts often stress us out which eventually breaks down our immune system and causes us pain.  

According to Hof, he builds resilience in his body to endure incredible physical and psychological stress by practicing three techniques:meditation, cold exposure, and specialized breathing. This is something we all need to work on to become happier, more effective thinkers, and truly appreciate the amazing “homes” we live in.
